Sydney Wilson is one of the main lawmen, song men and master craftsmen on Mornington Island. He specialises in large come back boomerangs, spears, wood carvings and ceremonial dance hats which he makes with his mother.

He is a full-time craftsman for the Muyinda Aboriginal Corporation and also acts as a teacher for the young men. 

Sydney Wilson also carves and paints Love Dolls.

In the old days when a young boy and girl were promised to each other by their parents, a pair of dolls were made to signify their union for life.
