Kathleen Wallace is a highly respected artist and representative of Eastern Arrernte families associated with the country southeast of Alice Springs and the community of Santa Teresa.
From her early childhood years growing up at the mission, Kathleen was taught to paint and draw by nuns. Her earliest experiences were drawing in the sand and learning her songs and stories from her grandparents. Kathleen's landscapes are rich in colour and detail, depicting her country south of the McDonnell ranges.
The establishment of Keringke Arts in the late 1980s meant that the artists were introduced to silk painting and various forms of decorative arts. Kathleen is represented with Keringke Arts and has been in senior positions representing not only the art centre but also Desart Inc.
Her work is continually in high demand.
